Bible Grade 05 - The Book of Acts (B125)
Acts gives us the first years
of the church that Christ established and the history of the early
preachers of the Gospel. Each week begins with vocabulary and includes
a Bible story, reinforcement activities, and a Bible verse appropriate
to the text for memorization.
English Grade 05 (E125)
Sentence structure, kinds of
sentences, punctuation and capitalization rules, recognizing and
diagraming all eight parts of speech, contractions, antonyms, homonyms,
using troublesome words correctly, dictionary skills, letter writing –
friendly, business, thank-you notes, writing a research paper, and
writing compositions are all covered throughout the course of the year.
Spelling 5 contains 36 weeks of spelling lists with activities and
glossary.
Literature Grade 05 (L125)
Vocabulary words and
definitions; comprehension activities; McGuffey’s Fifth Eclectic Reader
is used for reading comprehension and oral reading. Book reports are
required every six weeks. Bible memorization is assigned throughout the
year with Bible verses pertaining to the moral or practical lesson
taught in the week’s reading assignments.
Science Grade 05 - Beginner's Physiology & Health (S125)
This course clearly teaches
about our Creator and His special design of the human body. The
skeleton, the brain and nerves, the blood and the circulatory system,
the special senses, and enemies of good health are just some of the
topics covered in this course.
History Grade 05 - The Beginner's American History (H125)
The text written in the early
years of the 20th Century deals with early American heroes from a
vantage point much nearer in time than we live today. This strictly
traditionalist history text is a treasure of information for our young
history students and deserves to be studied with care and respect. Each
week begins with vocabulary and many end with a report. Bible
memorization is also included each week.
Math Grade 05 (M125)
All basic concepts learned in
previous grades are completely reviewed. Place value to billions;
rounding off whole numbers, money, decimals, and mixed numbers;
factoring; multiples; converting measures within the same system;
perimeter and area; geometric ideas and shapes; line graphs, bar
graphs, grids and scale drawings; measurement equations; algebraic
equations with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
three-digit divisors; four-digit multiplication; division of decimals;
fractions as decimals; introduction to percent, decimals with percent,
percent as fractions, and word problems are presented in understandable
ways.
